SMB Client for Local Folder Sharing

  • Hi

Being able to create folders based on local network shares using SMB 3.0 would be very useful.

  • Hello Ian Williams,

Thank you for reaching out with your interest in SMB 3.0 support for local folder sharing. It's great to hear that you're looking for ways to integrate SMB 3.0 into your workflow. At Cozyla, we're always keen to explore new features that can enhance user experience.

Currently, our Cozyla app doesn't have direct support for SMB 3.0 within the app itself, primarily due to limitations with the system gallery's ability to scan photos from SMB shares. However, we do offer alternative methods to work with SMB 3.0 contents:

    1. System Sharing: You can access folders from the system file explorer on your device and connect to an SMB server. After selecting the content you wish to share, use the "share to" option and choose the "My Cozyla" app. This method allows you to directly upload content to your device. Please note that some phone models may have compatibility issues with SMB protocols, which could affect the sharing process. If you encounter any problems, do let us know.

You can refer to the below topic: https://www.cozyla.com/apps/community/topic/118214/a-easy-way-to-share-your-photos

    2. Web Upload Portal: We're excited to announce that we are launching a Web Upload Portal, which can be used from a PC. This portal will enable you to select content from your SMB server and upload it directly. This feature aims to provide a more convenient method for handling files and photos via SMB.

For us to better understand your needs and potentially develop a more integrated SMB feature in the future, could you describe more about the specific scenarios where you need this functionality? Understanding your use case in more detail will help us tailor our solutions to better suit your needs.

Please feel free to share any additional details or queries. We're here to help!
